Terms of Use

Terms of use for the RecForge II Android audio recorder app.

Terms of Use

Welcome to RecForge II. By installing or using the application, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully — if you do not accept these terms, please do not use the application.

Acceptance

By accessing or using RecForge II, you accept these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. The free version of the application is provided free of charge on Google Play; an in-app Premium bundle and a separate RecForge II Pro listing are also available.

Permitted use

You may use RecForge II for any lawful, personal, non-commercial purpose: recording your own voice, music, conversations you are entitled to record, sound design, podcast prep, transcription, etc.

You agree not to:

  • record audio in violation of applicable laws (recording private conversations without consent, recording in jurisdictions where recording is restricted, harassment, etc.),
  • use the application to capture or distribute copyrighted material without permission,
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the application for the purpose of building a competing commercial product,
  • attempt to disrupt or compromise the application's stability or security,
  • redistribute the application or substantial parts of it outside the official Google Play Store.

You are solely responsible for the recordings you make, including obtaining consent from anyone whose voice you record where required by your local law.

Intellectual property — application

All original content of RecForge II (UI, source code, original artwork, original copy, icons not derived from third parties) is owned by MOLLARD Jérôme. Any reproduction, modification, redistribution or commercial exploitation of these original elements, in whole or in part, requires prior written consent.

Third-party libraries

RecForge II bundles open-source audio libraries (LAME, libVorbis, libOgg, libOpus, libSpeex, FFmpeg, SoundTouch, TagLib). Each library remains subject to its original licence. See the Legal Notice for the list and links.

Storage and backup

Your recordings are stored on your device. Depending on the output folder you pick:

  • The Music public folder (default): files are visible over USB and are kept when you uninstall the app.
  • A RecForge private folder: files are app-private and are deleted permanently when you uninstall the app or use Settings → Apps → RecForge → Clear data.

We strongly recommend you back up your recordings regularly if they matter to you — for example before changing devices, clearing app data, or uninstalling. We are not liable for any loss of recordings caused by an uninstall, a factory reset, a device failure or a manual Clear data action.

Service availability — disclaimer

RecForge II is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, recording quality on a given device, or uninterrupted availability.

We try our best to keep the application stable and the recording engine reliable across the wide variety of Android devices, but:

  • the application may contain bugs or device-specific recording issues,
  • updates may change behaviour or migrate local settings,
  • the application may be discontinued at our sole discretion,
  • the Google Play Store may delist the application for reasons outside our control,
  • some features depend on hardware capabilities and Android permissions that vary across devices.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we decline any liability for direct or indirect damages resulting from the use or impossibility to use the application, including but not limited to loss of recordings, missed scheduled sessions, encoding artefacts, audio quality issues, or any other inconvenience.

If you spot a bug or a regression on a specific device, please contact us at dje073@gmail.com — please include the Android version and the device model.

Ads — free version

The free version of RecForge II is supported by ads served via the LevelPlay / IronSource SDK, with Unity Ads and Vungle as ad networks. By using the free version, you accept the display of ads, subject to your consent managed through Google's UMP consent form. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for details.

To remove ads, you can:

  • buy the in-app Premium bundle, or
  • install the separate RecForge II Pro listing on the Play Store.

In-app purchases

In-app purchases are billed by Google Play under their own terms of service. Refunds, family sharing and similar matters are handled by Google. We have no access to your payment information.

Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by French law. Any dispute related to the use of the application will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts.

Changes to these terms

We may modify these Terms of Use at any time. Significant changes will be reflected on this page. Your continued use of the application after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
