About RecForge II

RecForge II is a full-featured audio recorder and editor for Android, built by an enthusiast for enthusiasts. It was first released in 2013 and has been in active maintenance since then.

What it does

  • Record in MP3, OGG Vorbis, FLAC, OPUS, M4A (AAC), WMA, WAV (PCM) and Speex — pick the format, the sample rate, the bitrate, and choose mono or stereo.
  • Schedule recordings ahead of time, with optional repetition; schedules are re-armed after a device reboot.
  • Edit the waveform: trim, cut, crop, merge, concat, place markers, loop a region.
  • Time-stretch: change tempo, pitch and playback rate independently, then export the modified audio.
  • Skip silences automatically to compress long recordings.
  • Convert and extract: drop in any audio or video file (.mp3, .ogg, .wav, .wma, .flac, .opus, .m4a, .mp4, .mkv, .avi, .mov, .webm, .flv …) and pull out the audio in your favourite codec.
  • Tag your files: ID3v2, Vorbis comments, iTunes-style tags, cover art — all editable in-app.
  • Share to WhatsApp, email, Drive, Dropbox or any app that handles audio.
  • Widgets and shortcuts: home-screen widgets in 4 sizes, plus an app shortcut to start a recording from anywhere.
  • 17 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian, simplified and traditional Chinese, Korean, Turkish, Hungarian, Finnish, Catalan, Indonesian, Arabic.
