RecForge III Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-11-04

Welcome to RecForge III. By installing or using the app, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully; if you do not accept them, do not use the app.

Acceptance

By using RecForge III, you accept these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. The app is distributed free of charge on Google Play; the free version shows ads. Premium comes as an in-app purchase (see "In-app purchases").

Permitted use

You may use RecForge III for any lawful purpose: recording your voice, music, a meeting, a lecture or a conversation you are entitled to record, preparing a podcast, transcribing, etc.

You agree not to:

You are solely responsible for the recordings you make, including obtaining consent from anyone whose voice you record where your law requires it.

Intellectual property

The original content of RecForge III (interface, source code, artwork, copy, icons not taken from a third party) is owned by MOLLARD Jérôme. Any reproduction, modification, redistribution or commercial exploitation of these elements, in whole or in part, requires his prior written consent.

Third-party libraries

RecForge III is built on open-source libraries (FFmpeg among them) and on third-party speech recognition models, each under its own licence. Their list and the text of each licence are in the app, on the About screen.

Storage and backup

Your recordings are kept on your device, in the "Recordings/RecForge" folder ("Music/RecForge" on Android 10 and 11) or in the folder you choose. They are ordinary audio files: they remain after the app is uninstalled. Markers, edit lists and transcripts are in the app's private database and are erased on uninstall or by "Clear data" in Android's settings.

Back up your recordings regularly if they matter to you — in particular before changing devices, clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. The publisher is not liable for any loss of recordings caused by an uninstall, a factory reset, a device failure or a data clearing.

Transcription

Transcription is computed automatically, on your device. It may contain errors or omissions (misrecognised words, missed passages, especially with noise or several voices): read it again before relying on it, in particular for a number, a name or professional use.

Service availability — disclaimer

RecForge III is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, recording quality on a given device, or uninterrupted availability.

The publisher does its best to keep the app stable and recording reliable across the wide variety of Android devices, but:

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher declines any liability for direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of, or the inability to use, the app, including loss of recordings, encoding artefacts, transcription errors or audio quality issues.

If you find a bug on a device, write to dje073@gmail.com with the device model and the Android version.

Ads — free version

The free version of RecForge III is supported by ads, served by Google AdMob and the networks it puts in competition. By using the free version, you accept the display of ads, under the consent you give through Google's form, which you can change in Settings › Privacy. See the Privacy Policy.

The rewarded video. When your transcription time is not enough, the app may offer you to watch an ad video: watched to the end, it adds transcription minutes. Watching it is always your choice. The number of minutes added and the video's availability may change, and a video may not be available. It is never offered to a Premium user.

In-app purchases

Purchases are billed by Google Play, under its own terms (https://play.google.com/intl/en/about/play-terms/). Refunds and payment matters are handled by Google. The publisher has no access to your payment details.

To check that a purchase is still valid, the app asks the publisher's purchase server (see the Privacy Policy, point 2).

Applicable law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute about the use of the app falls under the French courts, subject to the mandatory provisions that protect consumers in their country of residence.

Changes to these terms

The publisher may change these terms. A significant change is shown on this page, with its date. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the changed terms.
